# [TODO List](https://intum.com/help/organization/todo-list.md)

## TODO List

In Intum, a TODO list is available in several places — a simple way to jot down things to do without creating a full task right away.

## Where to Find TODO

### Dashboard

On the main page, click the **...** button and select **Add TODO list**. A panel will appear on the right side of the dashboard where you can quickly add items.

When you check off all items and delete them, the panel disappears — it comes back when you click "Add TODO list" again.

### Tasks

Every task (`/organize/tasks/:id`) has its own TODO list. Useful when a task has several steps to complete — instead of creating separate tasks for each, you enter them as TODO items directly in the task.

## How Does It Work?

- Type text and click **Add** — done
- Check the checkbox when a point is completed
- Delete unnecessary items (trash icon on hover)
- Unchecked items ask for confirmation before deletion, checked items are deleted immediately

## Why Use TODO Instead of Tasks?

Not everything deserves its own task. Sometimes you have a list of small things to get done during the day — TODO is perfect for that:

- **Speed** — adding a point takes 2 seconds, no need to fill out a task form
- **Context** — TODO on the dashboard is your personal list, nobody else sees it
- **Flexibility** — if a point turns out to be bigger than you thought, you can always turn it into a full task
- **Tidiness** — small things don't clutter the team's task list

TODO works great as a quick "what do I need to do today" note — you open Intum in the morning, see your list, and know where to start.

## Permissions

The TODO list requires the **todos** permission. If you don't see the "Add TODO list" option on the dashboard, check your role in account settings.
