# [Knowledge Base Entries](https://intum.com/help/knowledge-base/knowledge-base-entries.md)

## Entries

An entry is an article in the [knowledge base](knowledge-base) — it can be an instruction, guide, FAQ, or technical documentation.

## Entry Content

An entry has two content fields:

- **Content** (`content`) — description from the user's perspective, written by default in Markdown
- **API Documentation** (`content_api`) — optional technical documentation (endpoints, fields, examples)

## Entry Properties

- **Title** — article heading
- **Category** — assignment to a [category](kb-categories)
- **Tags** — keywords to aid searching
- **Priority** — display order
- **URL** — slug automatically generated from the title (with category prefix)
- **Status** — publication stage

## SEO

Each entry can have its own SEO metadata:

- **HTML Title** — browser page title
- **HTML Description** — meta description

## Privacy and Publication

- **Private** — visible only to logged-in users with permissions
- **Publication Date** — the entry will appear publicly only from the specified date
- **Draft** — automatic draft saving during editing

## Related Entries

Entries can be linked to each other — this creates a bidirectional association visible in the "Related" section on the entry page.

## Multilingual Support

Entries from different knowledge bases can be linked as translations of the same article.

## Rating

Visitors can rate entries (helpful/unhelpful). Ratings affect the article's ranking.

## Attachments

Files can be added to an entry — images (displayed inline), PDF documents, etc.

## Navigation

The system automatically generates a table of contents from headings (H2-H5) in the article — visible as a navigation menu on the entry page.
